Memo: Black in Tech Summit reflections
Last week, CEO and founder A.J. Bingham spoke on a panel at the inaugural Black in Tech Summit hosted by Capital Factory and DivInc.
The event featured a full day of programming to help inspire, engage and elevate Black entrepreneurs, tech professionals and allies through insightful panels, interactive workshops, networking and a community showcase.
A.J.’s panel, “Building a Business” featured fellow Austin entrepreneurs Kelli Newman, Lauren Washington, Mark Phillip and Sterling Smith. The four discussed lessons learned, Aha moments, and giving back among other topics.
During the Q&A portion of the panel, the question came up about what the black community can do to support one another in business.
The answers ranged from recommending new clients to support networks, but boil down to one aspect we hold dear at Bingham Group- Connections.
At this conference, we were able to make connections with so many thoughtful and driven individuals determined to uplift each other. We hope to foster those by introducing them to our networks, contributing to a stronger Austin community overall.
At Bingham Group, our motto is “Connections start here,” and being among these inspiring black entrepreneurs are exactly the connections we love to make.
